Wednesday 30 October 8.00pm Cyd-Gynhyrchiad Theatr Mwldan | Creu Cymru Co-Production Horizons Tour /Taith Gorwelion A World of Music In Wales Cabaret Style Seating 4 days….8 bands …. 16 shows… 16 venues…Creu Cymru and Mwldan in association with Cerdd Cymru : Music Wales present a major music tour of Wales featuring artists hand picked from global showcases appearing at Womex 2103 in Cardiff, with support from world class Welsh artists. Cumbia All Stars (Periw / Peru) + DnA (Cymru) Travel back to the psychedelic roots of the Peruvian Cumbia! Like a Peruvian Buena Vista Social Club, the 8-piece Cumbia All Stars come from the legendary bands of Peruvian Cumbia and, after 40 years, they meet again to finally play together the music they participated in creating. Psychedelia was a phenomenon that only could have occurred during the sixties in Peru, a product of the effervescent environment of rediscovered freedoms when psychedelia took root in the removed cities of Amazonia, and among children of immigrants who gave birth to a musical genre that is now an integral part of the Peruvian identity. Delirious melodies, bold guitar, latin grooves and jerky beats – these guys swing!   DnA by name, DnA by nature: music is in the very DNA of this hugely talented mother-and-daughter duo Delyth & Angharad Jenkins from Wales, both of whom enjoy international reputations not only as soloists but as members of such bands as Calan, Adran D, Aberjaber and Cromlech. Whether they’re vamping up a traditional oldie or minting something entirely new, there’s a timeless beauty to these intimate and irresistible conversations between harp and fiddle.Theatr Mwldan and Creu Cymru present a major tour of Wales, presenting the best world music performers who have selected to appear in showcases at the global international music event Womex. This year WOMEX 13 will be hosted by Cerdd Cymru in Cardiff between 23 - 27 October. Supported by the Arts Council of Wales, Welsh Government and the National Lottery. £12.00 in advance, £14.00 on the door
